Lesson from my Toothache
January 29, 2021

Hi guys,

Recently, I just had a toothache and I learned a lot of lesson because of this toothache. Here are what I learned:

1. Don’t underestimate small issue.

I learned that it is important to fix any issue that occur as soon as possible. I have got a toothache on Wednesday afternoon. It is not a big pain at first. I thought it was just a small issue. It would go away after some time. But I was wrong! It didn’t go away after 1 night. I was suffering a lot because it prevented me to sleep.

The next day I decided to visit dentist. And it was a right decision! It turned out I need to have urgent wisdom tooth extraction. This wisdom tooth came not in the right place so it created a hole which is difficult to be cleaned. The pain was coming from that part.

2. Be grateful of something you can do!

During my time having that toothache, I learned that I have taken routine (like sleep, etc) for granted. You will understand how important that activity is when you can not do that anymore. We can walk every day, have exercise, sleep, read book, watch movie, eat, breathe. You get my point. Sometimes you just need to stop and think of what you have and be grateful!

3. Validate your “unknown” factor by research more

Honestly, I was afraid during the process of wisdom tooth extraction. When I reflected again about that, I was afraid because of some “unknown” factors. I never have an experience wisdom tooth extraction before. In my mind, I would be in pain during the process. But, I was wrong. In fact, the dentist gave me a pain killer so I won’t feel the pain during the extraction. It went better than I expected. The pain has gone as well!

From this I learned that sometimes it’s good if you can research something before facing something new. Now, we have the best library in the world: Google which can give us the information about something we don’t know. Use that information to process information to insight. In the end, you’ll be prepared facing that new challenge!
